Belbeiys vyhrál čtyři ze šesti dostihů a všechny s porozuhodnou lehkostí. Mnozí tvrdí, že z něj bude další Phar Lap. Belbeiysova majitelka – paní L B Izraelová odmítla nabídku na prodej valacha za 16.000 guinejí. Její manžel, pan Izrael, který je zároveň i chovatelem koně, tisku sdělil, že Belbeiys není za tyto peníze k mání. Belbeiys byl pojmenován po městě ležícím nedaleko Káhiry v Egyptě. Paní Izraelová jej navštívila a zakoupila si tam krásné hedvábné šátky. Dopisovatel deníku The Courier Mail Sydney Turf „The Harvester“ říká, že Belbeiys má na valacha mimořádný exteriér a je těžké jej porazit. Má dynamickou akci a jeho výhoda je v dobře stavěných bedrech a pánevních končetinách. Jeho otcem je hřebec Nilo (imp.) a matkou klisna Red Wendy. Belbeiys je horký favoritem nadcházejícího Members´ Handicapu v Randwicku.

IS HE ANOTHER „PHAR LAP“

Champion 3-year-old gelding Belbeiys, who is claimed by many Sydney racing men to be the best of his age in Australia. Belbeiys has won four of six races all by wide margins. Some say he will be another Phar Lap. Belbeiys‘ owner, Mrs. L. B. Israel, this week refused an offer of 16,000 guineas for the gelding. Mrs. Israel’s husband, the breeder of the horse, said that no one would give the money it would take to buy Belbeiys. Belbeiys is called after a town near Cairo, in Egypt, which Mrs. Israel visited and where she purchased some silk scarves. The Courier-Mail’s Sydney turf writer ‚The Harvester‘ says that Belbeiys is exceptionally well set up for a gelding and is hard to fault. He has a fine action and gets all his power from his loins and hindquarters He is by Nilo (imp.) from the mare Red Wendy. Belbeiys is a hot fav ourite for the Members‘ Handicap at Randwick to-day.

Dvouletý Trump vyběhal 537 liber, kdežto Phar Lap jako dvouletek úspěšný nebyl, protože vydělal pouze 182 liber.Pak však nastal onem pověstný zlom a velký ryzák odstaroval úžasnou kariéru, která ve větší míře zastínila každého jiného koně v zemi. Jako tříletý vyběhal cca 27.000 liber, přičemž zvítězil ve 13 dostizích ze svých 20 startů. Trump jako tříletek vyběhal směšných 530 liber, ze svých tří startů byl jednou první, druhý a třetí.Jako čtyřletý Phar Lap pokračoval v lámání rekordů, když vydělal přes 24 000 liber, přičemž vyhrál 14 dostihů v řadě. Naproti tomu Trump jako čtyřletý startoval 8x a 1x zvítězil v Derrimut Handicapu, přičemž vyhrál 280 liber. Pak se však zlepšil a sezonu uzavřel se 14 380 librami na kontě. Phar Lap do své smrti stihl ještě vyběhat něco přes 15.000 liber. Navíc Trump se dle slov svého trenéra velmi obtížně trénoval, kdežto Phar Lap byl prostě závodní stroj.

Phar Lap, greatest horse Australia has seen, won £66,738 in stakes before he died in America. As a two-year-old only was The Trump the greater stake winner. He won £537 10s to Phar Lap’s £182.

Thereafter Phar Lap’s amazing career overshadowed The Trump’s to an even greater extent than the photograph shows he did in size. As a three-year-old he won almost £27,000, winning 13 times in 20 starts. The Trump’s three-year-old winnings were £530, from a first, second and third in his only three starts. At four years the difference was as marked. Phar Lap won more than £24,000 and won 14 races in a row. This year’s Cup winner had eight starts for one win, the Derrimut Handicap on July 11, worth £280. Since that -race The Trump has won £14,380. Phar Lap won just over £15.000 more before he died. The Trump has been hard to train, while Phar Lap was a racing machine.
